BTB, DFC, and SAIB have collaborated to create a financial course designed to help you navigate your business finances with confidence. The course consists of three web seminars and concludes with an in-person workshop at the Best Western Biltmore Hotel in Belize City, Belize.

    • Introduction to the lending landscape and commercial terms.

    • Understanding different loan types (working capital, capital expansion, equipment loans).


  • 6:45 PM – 7:00 PM | Q&A & Action Items

    • Self-assessment exercise: "Defining your financing need" to complete before Session 2.

Session 2: The Money Map 🗺️

    • The Big Three: Introduction to the Balance Sheet, Income Statement (P&L), and Cash Flow Statement. In – Kind Contribution.

    • How lenders view your cash flow vs. your profitability.

  • 6:00 PM – 6:45 PM | Module 2: Key Financial Indicators & Health Checks

    • Basic financial analysis for non-accountants.

    • Understanding key indicators: Profit margins, Debt-to-Equity, and Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR).

    • Takeaway: A basic financial health checklist to review against your current business numbers.

Session 3: Bookkeeping, Accounting & Loan Preparation 📑
